Indian Contract pistol .65 inch, ordnance pattern, 1814 (c)
Manufactured by William J Rolfe, Birmingham, 1814 (c).
Firearms were often presented to Native American chiefs who were allied to Britain during the American War of 1812 (1812-1815). These weapons were produced specifically to be given as gifts and made by government contractors in Birmingham.
